About Our Publisher

Hancock House Publishing was founded in the late 1960's by David Hancock, under the name and imprint of the Hancock Wildlife Conservation Center. Its purpose was to market wildlife oriented books Hancock, an ornithologist, biologist and film producer, had authored to accompany his documentary film productions.

In 1971 Hancock expanded his vision for company, enlisting other authors and producing, in addition to his continually growing list of books on wildlife, books on western history, native culture and bush flying. In recent years the company has consolidated its distribution, which was originally operated from warehouses in Alberta, Ontario, Connecticut, Seattle and Victoria to Surrey, British Columbia for Canada, and Blaine, Washington for the United States. Today they also have a significant Web presence supporting the international direct mail marketing of their books.
